Whitehall Juice

Description:  5 oz. Juice
Approximate Height:  3⅞”
Pattern:  Whitehall
Colors:  Clear Crystal, Amber, Gold, Olive, Riviera Blue, Ruby Flashed Rim, Bluish-Gray

The original Whitehall pattern produced many Juices over their long production run.  They were made in a wide variety of colors.  Many of these colors are pictured below.  While it is remotely possible that some Juice items were produced in the newer American Whitehall colors – such as Peach, etc. – I have never seen any.  I have only seen them in the older Whitehall colors.  All of their Juices, no matter when they were made, will have two mould seams.

When you search for this item online, be aware that many people call the Whitehall 10 oz. Tumbler a “Juice” as well.  The 5 oz. Juice and the 10 oz. Tumbler are two separate items.  You can identify them properly if you refer to their size and holding capacity.

Ice Cream ~ Ice Cream Saucer; IC Tray

Item Number:  P-06
Approximate Size:  5½″ D
Production Dates:  1916-1924 Ice Cream Tray; 1925-1931 Ice Cream Saucer; 1932-1944 Ice Cream

Fostoria | American | Ice Cream DishThe Fostoria American Ice Cream dish is known by different names.  When first introduced, Fostoria described it as the Ice Cream Tray and/or an Ice Cream Saucer.  Later in production years, it was simply described as the Ice Cream dish.

The Ice Cream dish is approximately 5½″ in diameter.  Remember, these dishes were handmade – so some size variation is to be expected. The outer rims are flared upward, creating a nice nesting spot for delicious ice cream (or some other tempting dessert).

Sugar and Cream Tray

Item Number:  697
Length:  6¾″
Production Dates:  1938-1982

Fostoria | American | Tea Cream, Sugar & TrayThe Sugar and Cream Tray is most often seen as one piece of a three-piece set, with either the Individual Cream & Sugar – or the Tea Cream & Sugar.  The Tray is the same for both sets.  When these sets were being produced, you could buy the three pieces as one set, or you could buy any of the three items (Sugar, Cream, and/or Tray) individually.

The Sugar and Cream Tray was produced from 1938 – 1982.  It is about 8″ in length when measured from handle to handle.  The Tray portion is about 6¾” in length and approximately 4″ wide. The sides of the Tray come up about ¼ of an inch, ensuring that the Sugar and Cream will sit securely in place.

While this particular tray is obviously most used when serving Cream and Sugar, it can also be used with other pieces in the American line.  For example, it holds Salt & Pepper Shakers beautifully.  It is also the official tray that is used in the 3 Pc. Jam Pot Set. It can even be used for Mini Cupcakes, and individual appetizers or salads.

Ice Tea Plate

Item Number:  P-03
Approximate Size:  6″ D
Production Dates:  1915-1928

The Fostoria American Ice Tea Plate has the distinction of being one of the first items introduced in the American pattern back in 1915.  There was not a big supply of these plates produced; hence, they are not easy to locate. The Ice Tea Plates were sold as a separate item from the Ice Tea glasses.  When these two pieces are suited together, they make for a beautiful duo.

The Ice Tea Plates are approximately 6″ in diameter, and at first glance, look similar to the 6″ Bread and Butter Plates. Their similarity in size and shape has caused confusion between the two; however, there are differences.  The most prominent difference is that there is no visible ring around the center design of the Ice Tea Plate, as it has been totally ground off on the underside.  There is an obvious center ring on the Bread and Butter Plates.

As an eBay Partner, I may be compensated if you make a purchase on eBay.  The following link shows available Plates on eBay.  Bear in mind; however, that these type of plates are sometimes mistaken for the Bread and Butter Plates, etc.  Many people do not know their correct name, so you will need to search for all types of plates in case they are misclassified.

Sauce Boat Plate

Item Number:  638
Approximate Size:  8″ L; 6½″ W
Production Dates:  1938-1958

Fostoria | American | Sauce Boat and PlateThe Fostoria American Sauce Boat Plate is really lovely.  Even though it is typically paired with the Sauce Boat, it is beautiful in its own right.  The Sauce Boat and the Sauce Boat Plate were offered separately by the Fostoria Glass Company, so it is possible to have one without the other. When used together; however, they serve any type of dinner sauce with grace and beauty.

In comparison to other common American pieces, the production life for the Sauce Boat and Plates were not as long-lived. For this reason alone, this is why you typically do not see vast amounts of these pieces in the seller’s market.  Even so, they managed to be produced for twenty years … and you can still find them.

The Sauce Boat Plate is about 8″ in length and approximately 6½″ wide. The design in the center of the plate and bowl is the same, showcasing 24 petals and/or rays.  The reason they fit so perfectly and are almost identical in appearance is because the Sauce Boat Plate was made from the same mould as the Sauce Boat.
