Individual Shaker – Top “C”

Item Number:  650-656
Height:  2⅜”
Production Dates:  1948-1982

Fostoria American Individual Shaker - Top "C"These little Individual Shakers, with their Silver/Chrome Tops, are just precious. They look gorgeous sitting on the table, and even prettier when resting on the Individual Shaker Tray. These Individual Shakers have a height ranging from approximately 2⅜” – 2⅞”.  My own personal Shakers have a measurement of approximately 2½”, so expect slight size variations.

The Individual Shaker Tray was an item used in the 3-Piece Individual Shaker Set.  The Shaker Tray fits the square Individual Shakers with Fostoria Glass Tops and the Individual Shakers with Chrome Tops.

In regards to the silver and chrome type tops, the silver tops were the first to be introduced.  They remained in production for just a few years.  When the 1950’s came around, the silver tops were replaced with the chrome version.

The Individual Shakers are petite in size, as their purpose was to serve salt to individuals – not the entire table.  Hence, these smaller Shakers were usually placed at each place setting on the table.  Diminutive in size, they still manage to make a grand impression on the dinner table.  Fostoria also made larger Shakers, such as the Shaker, F.G.T. – which would be the perfect choice if you needed a bigger Salt and Pepper Shaker for the entire table.

Peach Milk Glass Bud Vase

Fostoria American Bud Vases - Peach and AquaThe Fostoria Glass Company was very proud of their milk glass, and they made their pieces by hand … just like antique originals.  The American Bud Vases that were produced in milk glass have a soft and mellow look to them.  Peach milk glass specimens are quite beautiful, consisting of fine quality and a porcelain-like finish.

The Fostoria American 6″ Flared Bud Vase was primarily made in clear crystal; however, they were also produced in a small assortment of milk glass colors – such as Aqua, White and Peach.  While there are certainly one-of-a-kinds, whimsies, and/or sample pieces in existence, the most commonly produced American milk glass items are the following:

Footed Bud Vase, Flared – 6″
Footed Bud Vase, Flared – 8½”
Square Footed Vase – 9″
Topper Ash Tray
Topper – 2½”
Topper – 3″
Topper – 4″
Wedding Bowl and Cover

White milk glass pieces are the easiest to locate, as they were produced for a longer period of time. The Peach and Aqua colors are a bit more difficult to find, as they were only produced from 1957 through 1959.

Aqua Milk Glass Bud Vase

The Fostoria American pattern produced pieces in the Aqua milk glass color for a couple of years – from approximately 1957 through 1959. Only a few pieces in the American line (#2056) were made in milk glass, and the 6″ Flared Bud Vase was one of the lucky few. Aqua milk glass pieces are gorgeous, with soft color – consisting of both green and blue hues.
